Ms. Cheryl: (Owner/Teacher) has been studying dance since the age of 5. She began dancing in Upton, but then the studio closed and she studied at Ms. Kim’s School of Dance through the remainder of her high school years. She became an assistant teacher during her high school years and then in college became Ms. Kim’s Associate Teacher. She also taught for several other studios in the area during that time. Cheryl has her Masters in Education with a concentration in Spanish. She was a high school teacher for 6 years before leaving to stay home with her two daughters, who also share her love for dance and each take multiple classes at Westboro Dance Academy. Cheryl started Westboro Dance Academy in 2007 and continues to attend dance conventions and competitions to further her knowledge in dance.
Mr. Trav: (Teacher) has been studying theatre and dance for as long as he can remember. He began his education at various schools including Hudson Dance Academy, Center Stage Dance Studio, Ms. Kim’s School of Dance, and Sue Sabillio’s. In 2009 Travers received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance at The University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he concentrated on Contemporary and Ballet Techniques. Travers also studied at The London Contemporary Dance School in the United Kingdom. He has performed works by world renowned choreographers including Paul Taylor, Murray Louis, Bebe Miller, Siobhan Davies, Shapiro and Smith, Gregg Lizenbery, and Jeff Rubadal. Before returning to the mainland this past June, Travers was working with Ballet Hawaii, Honolulu Dance Theatre, and teaching for Punahou, and The Movement Center.
Ms. Amanda: (Teacher) started dancing when she was 4 years old. She was an assistant teacher for four years at Diane's School of Dance where she taught ballet, tap and jazz. Amanda then studied at Manhatanville College where she majored in Chemistry and minored in Dance. Here she studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and african/caribbean. Amanda has also received her Master's in Chemistry from Sacred Heart University in 2008. Since then she has taken dance classes at a studio in Connecticut, and has performed in and helped out backstage at Westboro Dance Academy's recitals.
Miss Emrie: (Student Teacher) is a Level 5 dancer at W.D.A. and this will be her second year student-teaching the Level 3 Ballet class. Emrie currently studies Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Acrobatics & Contemporary at W.D.A.
Miss Nicole: (Class Assistant) is a Level 5 dancer at W.D.A. and this is also her second year assisting with the Preschool Level classes. Nicole currently studies Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Contemporary at W.D.A.
